Mechanical Designer - Refinery
Position: Mechanical Designer
Type: Contract
Location: San Francisco Bay Area
Pay: $65 to $80/hr DOE
Duration: Up to 6 months +
Work Schedule – 9/80 work schedule

AutoCAD 2D/3D
Mechanical Designer with refinery and oil and gas experience is needed for a contract, possible temp to direct hire opportunity. Fixed Equipment, Fire Heaters, Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessel Projects. EPC experience is preferred. Candidate must be local or able to relocate quickly.
Job Description:
- Uses computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools to model mechanical equipment or perform studies required for the design of Fixed Equipment, Fire Heaters, Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels commonly found in petroleum refineries or chemical plants.
- Gathers information, makes studies, performs calculations, and prepares original rough layouts and sketches to present design proposal.
- Designs components or portions of systems, and modifies existing designs to develop or improve them.
- Coordinates design criteria with engineering and planning group in accordance with contractual specifications.
- Complete understanding and application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field.
- General knowledge of other related disciplines.
- Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives
- 10+ years of experience in petroleum/chemical industry required, drafting/design and related coursework
- Candidate should be experienced user of AutoCAD 2D and 3D (PDS or similar modeling software experience is a plus)
- Knowledge of Fixed Equipment, Fire Heaters, Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels
