DESCRIPTION:
Engineering Project Manager
Responsibility includes establishing project strategy, schedules and overall coordination of assigned resources. The PM will work closely with their development team, marketing, client services, the customer and any other resources to ensure the objectives of the project are met in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Communication with all the above groups is essential.
Responsibilities:
- In coordination with the Engineering Department's management group, solicits milestone commitments from development team members.
- Develops and manages the project.
- Forecasts resource needs and works with the Engineering Department's management group across all affiliates to align resources with project tasks.
- Manages the product development and product costs.
- Manage all project documentation as required by the Product Development Process.
- Publishes regular and timely project status updates.
- Review the hours charged to the project on a weekly basis.
- PQW Generation.
- Mentors less experienced Project Managers, assisting them with technical problems; training them on correct project management methods; sharing knowledge and encouraging job and skill growth.
Requirements
- Manage project/workstream/team dependencies and risks while optimizing for constraints; monitor the project status at engineering level and aggregate this into project management level reports.
- Establish metrics, templates, and milestones for projects including key performance indicators, and track progress and dependencies.
- Work with Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Industrial Designers and Software Engineers on projects
- Continually optimizing, developing and continually improving the PM process
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6+ years of Design to Manufacturing Experience
- 10+ years’ experience managing multiple projects or leading engineering teams
- Eager to adapt and continually improve
- Prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s Degree required
