DESCRIPTION:
Bankruptcy Litigation Paralegal
HYBRID!
EXPERIENCE:
- 3 + years as a Bankruptcy Paralegal with emphasis in creditor's rights matters and litigation.
- Draft and file bankruptcy pleadings, notices and proofs of claim.
- Coordinate with clients to collect financial information, loan documents, perfection and chain of title documents to ensure all necessary information and documents are included.
- Organize and maintain client records,
- Communicate with client and attorneys.
- Assist with investigations into assets, UCC filings, liens on titles, and bank accounts.
- Review bankruptcy filings, including petitions, schedules, pleadings and plans.
- Assist attorneys with hearing and trial preparations.
- Familiar with federal, state and local court rules to ensure pleadings meet the Court's rules/requirements.
- Track/calendar case progress, and service dates.
SKILLS and EDUCATION:
- Problem solving abilities
- Multi task
- Manage projects efficiently.
- Knowledge of Creditors rights matters, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and compliance regulations.
- Analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- 2 year Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- PACER AND State Court Software: CaseNet and E-Flex
- BestCase is preferred
- Microsoft Suite
